The Returned Soldiers' Settlement Act, 1916, allowed for the settlement of returned soldiers on Crown and Closer Settlement Lands in New South Wales.
About the photos
This volume, NRS 8095, shows returned soldiers clearing the land, constructing houses, and carrying out farming activities on soldier settlements established following World War 1. The photos also feature their families and cottages in which they lived.
The primary arrangement of this series appears to be under the individual soldier settlement. The photographs are captioned but appear to be undated.
