#OnThisDay 16 June 1893 the Parliamentary Electorates and Elections Act 1893 (55 Vic. Act No.38) introduced universal male suffrage in NSW. Men could vote provided they voted in the district of residence. Voters were also required to produce an 'Elector's Right' which established that they were duly enrolled and "qualified in respect of Manhood and Residence in such Division".
