#OnThisDay 26 December 1902 Ada Evans became the first woman in Australia to graduate with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sydney. Evans then applied for admission to the NSW Bar to practice as a barrister but this was rejected. She persevered and finally on 12 May 1921 Evans became the first woman to be admitted to the NSW Bar.
