#OnThisDay 4 January Governor Lachlan Macquarie attempted to redress the recent dissensions following the Rum Rebellion of 1808. Macquarie dismissed anyone appointed since Bligh's removal from office and nullified all trials, lands grants and bequests given to members of the NSW Corps.
