Metadata registry

The Digital Archives Metadata Registry provides a ‘best practice’ reference for NSW public offices wishing to standardise metadata used in agency recordkeeping systems. NSW State Archives and Records will progressively register preferences for published metadata terms (e.g. Dublin Core) to represent common metadata elements in the Digital Archive.

AS ISO 23081.1: 2018, Information and documentation – Records management processes – Metadata for records, Part 1: Principles

• Provides a framework for creating, managing and using records management metadata and explains the principles that govern it

AS/NZS ISO 23081.2: 2007, Information and documentation – Records management processes – Metadata for records, Part 2: Conceptual and implementation issues

• Provides a framework for defining metadata elements consistent with the principles and implementation considerations outlined in AS ISO 23081.1: 2018

AS/NZS 5478: 2015, Recordkeeping metadata property reference set (RMPRS)

• Provides a ‘reference set’ of recordkeeping metadata properties
